The work was made from the translation of the original texts in Hebrew and Greek and was published in Basel, Switzerland, on September 28, 1569.1 2 Its translator was Casiodoro de Reina, a Spanish religious converted to Protestantism.2 He receives the nickname of Reina-Valera for having made Cipriano de Valera her first revision in 1602.2The Reina-Valera was widely disseminated during the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century.
